Project Management Institute – An insight into Project Safety

Yesterday evening the University of Sunderland played host to the Project Management Institute. The talk was hosted by Tim Ingram of Port of Tyne. Safety is a topic that cannot be covered in an hour long presentation. Nor can a QHSE career of working in high hazard environments be demonstrated in such a time frame. However it was an excellent demonstration in an effective and digestible format that highlighted key requirements for safety in projects and at what parts this is integrated. Some highly pertinent examples from Piper Alpha 1988, Mumbai High 2005 and the London Olympics 2012 were discussed as case studies to highlight this.
