Exclusive was the creation of Managing Director Mark Ions. With eighteen years in the industry, Mark has become known for his professional and ethical business style. This forms the basis of the Exclusive philosophy.

Following graduation from university in Scotland, Mark returned to his native North East of England to progress his recruitment career. After establishing a dedicated Human Resources recruitment team for a global organisation, he was pivotal in its’ development and growth over a very successful six year period. In this time, Mark managed recruitment into specialist HR markets across both the public and private sectors. He also became involved in the development and launch of a dedicated programme incorporating L&D, training and talent management across the North of England and Scotland.

His recruitment experience is focused at the senior end, from Directors to Senior Managers across all sectors. He is experienced with senior recruitment across the following areas; Human Resources, Accountancy & Finance, Sales & Marketing and Technical recruitment.

He also has extensive experience of working on HR consultancy projects - examples include co-ordinating the centralisation of the recruitment service for a national housing association, which involved them moving to an online model, Outsourcing of HR to SME companies and Assessment Centres.

Sensing a demand in the market for a dedicated, professional recruitment consultancy in the region, Mark launched Exclusive Human Resources in 2007. His ethos of honesty, integrity and quality is the cornerstone of the business and, since its launch; Exclusive has grown rapidly under Mark’s direction to become a leading provider of Professional Recruitment and HR Consultancy Services across the North of England.

Away from Exclusive he spends a lot of time and energy within the charitable sector. As a main Board Director for HealthWORKS Newcastle he is able to support and guide this large North East charity through the many decisions it needs to make.

In 2009 Mark was elected to the UK Advisory Council for Diabetes UK. He is also a volunteer business mentor for the Prince’sTrust, meeting and guiding fledgling companies.

After graduating with a BA in Law and Management from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Jen made the move into retail management with a major high street retailer. In her 18 months there, she progressed from a sales assistant position into management before relocating to the North East to take up a new retail management role. This move saw Jen join a designer clothing store and she was rapidly promoted to managing the Metro Centre store.

This was quickly followed by a move to a larger Metro Centre outlet, where Jen was responsible for the management of around 80 staff. Due to the extremely fast paced nature of the job, Jen became increasingly involved with the day to day operations and Finance/HR functions and effectively management in these areas. This helped her to build on her already excellent customer service skills to become a highly effective Finance Director.

As Finance Director Jen is responsible for ensuring the business achieves its ’Customer Excellence’ programme. Jen leads the way in the business on quality control and oversees all financial aspects of the business. Beverly joined Exclusive in 2013 with a wealth of experience as a generalist Human Resources professional. The last 8 years of her career, prior to carrying out consultancy and project work, she worked as HR Lead in a number of organisations, directing people strategy and organisation development. Beverly is passionate about organisations, their culture and people. She actively works with organisations to develop managers, leaders of the future to work collaboratively to deliver success.

With an interest in employee engagement and well-being, in 2010 Beverly was able to secure £25,000 of funding to undertake a research project into the impact of organisational culture and leadership on staff attendance and mental health. The findings of this project provided an insight that has shaped her approach to Strategy, Organisation, Management and Staff Development.

She is a licensed DISC trainer and an accredited DISC practitioner. This means she works with organisations, teams and individuals to help them understand behaviours, drivers, and motivators, in order to recruit the right people, provide appropriate development and induction, and to work together in an environment where they understand themselves and others to maximise performance.

Beverly loves undertaking 1:1 work, coaching and Neuro-Linguistic-Programming (NLP). She uses Coaching, NLP and DISC in leadership coaching, developing high performing teams and staff development programmes. She coaches clients from Chief Executive, Director to aspiring leaders, together with facilitating conflict management and confidence building through her DISC and NLP work.

Prior to joining Exclusive as a Board Advisor in 2014, Rachel enjoyed a varied career in which people development and recruitment, as well as business growth, have featured strongly.

Her career started at Coopers & Lybrand, now PwC and over the last 20 years she has gained experience in corporate tax, corporate finance, HR & management consulting and extensively in recruitment across the private and public sectors. In addition she has been involved in two business start ups; a small manufacturing business in the mid 1990s which she exited with a 4 times return on investment after 4 years and more recently GatenbySanderson. She co-founded GatenbySanderson, a search & selection company specialising in senior public sector appointments, with a previous PwC colleague in late 2002. Using her previous experience of starting a business, within 7 years it was a national market leader in its sector with a reputation for excellence and had reached a turnover of £23m before she exited in early 2010.

Rachel is now a Business Angel who has invested in over 10 businesses in the last 4 years and been involved in the successful growth of many more as a Non Executive Director or Board Advisor. She is passionate about enterprise, job creation, helping businesses grow and supporting new start ups.

For almost 3 years she has also worked for the Judicial Appointments Commission chairing appointments panels for a range of judicial appointments, as well as acting as an Independent Panel Member for the Ministry of Justice.
