As Britain’s largest car manufacturing plant of all time, and the fastest car plant in UK automotive history to reach the two million mark with one model, the Qashqai, Nissan’s Sunderland Plant is a record-breaking facility.
Nissan’s continued success in Sunderland is driven by their ability to produce high quality vehicles at a competitive cost. At the foundation of this success is a highly skilled and committed workforce of around 6,700 people.
With the ongoing success of Nissan’s current models including the recently introduced Infiniti Q30 and future expansion plans, they are looking to increase their team as they enter another important year in the plant’s history.
2016 marked the 30th year of manufacturing in Sunderland; since the first Bluebird rolled off the line they have now produced over 8.5 million vehicles and stand at a staggering £3.6 billion of investment.
But the story doesn’t end there; later this year they will be welcoming an expansion to the luxury Infiniti brand with the arrival of QX30, as well as continuing with the £37million Press Shop extension.
There has never been a better time to join the team, so take a look at the Nissan engineering job vacancies we have on offer.
